Brand Ambassador

JOB SUMMARY 

D.C. United Brand Ambassador represents D.C. United across a variety of grassroots initiatives. Brand Ambassador is one of the most outwardly facing members of our Black-and-Red community. Through active fan engagement, a Brand Ambassador helps provide memorable experiences to D.C. United supporters at all home games and in the community. These events include but are not limited to; D.C. United home matches at Audi Field, special events around the DMV, watch parties, partner appearances, and festivals and celebrations to name a few. Brand Ambassadors represent and promote D.C. United at regular events with the goal of enhancing the fan experience and growing the Black-and-Red family through positive, energetic fan interaction and grassroots marketing efforts. This is a part-time employment opportunity. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support both on and off-site events including game nights and special events to promote D.C. United. 

  • Interact with event attendees in a fun, approachable and professional fashion. Fan engagement may include distributing giveaways, answering questions about D.C. United and Audi Field, and providing an overall memorable experience for each patron. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge and a strong passion for D.C. United. 

  • Help with ideation for current and potential marketing activations, as well as assisting in planning and implementation of activations. 

  • Responsible for fan engagement and data collection at events. 

  • Assist with other tasks assigned by Marketing Manager. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. 

  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions. 

  • Flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on season schedule. 

  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start date. 

COMPETENCIES (KSAs) 

  • The ideal candidates will reside locally and can begin work in January 2023. This opportunity is anticipated to last up to one year and may be extended to a longer term upon mutual agreement. 

  • Availability to work all home games during the 2023 D.C. United season. 

  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and effectively solve problems in a fast-paced work environment. 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to be a team player and enjoy working in a team environment. 

  • Possess excellent communication and customer-service skills. 

  • Must be dependable, willing to take initiative and adapt to a variety of situations. 

  • Sports Management / Marketing or Communications majors preferred. 

  • Passionate about D.C. United and/or have a willingness to learn about the organization.
