JOB SUMMARY

D.C. United are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Sales to lead and manage our corporate partnership sales team and strategic initiatives. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, and overall leadership of the Corporate Partnership sales team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the sports and entertainment industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in corporate partnership development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of partnership sales professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to identify new business opportunities and revenue streams.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure new corporate partnerships with local, national, and global brands.
  • Develop customized partnership proposals and presentations that highlight the value and benefits of partnering with D.C. United and Audi Field.
  • Collaborate with the activation team on the execution and fulfillment of partnership agreements, ensuring all deliverables are met.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes to drive revenue growth and internal efficiencies.
  • Drive revenue growth through the sale of sponsorships, advertising, and other partnership opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends and market dynamics to identify potential areas for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create integrated partnership packages that maximize value for partners and the organization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities related to sponsorship.
  • Conduct research to identify new sponsorship opportunities and innovative ways to enhance sponsorship offerings.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, operations, and community relations, to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and build relationships with potential partners.
  • Serve as a key spokesperson for the corporate partnership program, both internally and externally.
  • Track and report on sponsorship revenue, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure all sponsorship activities comply with legal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate partnership sales, sponsorship, or related fields, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience should include managing and selling and team management across sponsorship, ideally within professional sports or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing high-value corporate partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the sports and entertainment industry, including market trends and best practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a strong business acumen.

SALARY

  • $135,000 - $150,000 plus a performance-based bonus compensation (commensurate with experience)
