Equipment Internship - Summer 2025

Department: Soccer Operations
Location: Leesburg, VA

Position Summary:

D.C. United equipment interns will have the unique learning experience of working with a Major League Soccer team. Interns will assist both D.C. United First Team and Academy Teams to learn what it takes for a professional sports team to operate at a high level. Daily operations take place at the United Performance Center in Leesburg, VA.

This is an unpaid internship, and all interns MUST be receiving college credit for their work with D.C. United. Internship begins Tuesday, May 27th, 2025

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Locker Room maintenance: Laundry, locker setup/clean up.
  • Assist coaching staff with a training field set up.
  • Learn how to use a heat press to number jerseys, training kits, etc.
  • Organization of team gear and equipment.
  • Assist with players' and coaches' equipment needs and preferences.
  • Inventory management.
  • MLS and MLS Next Pro match uniform preparations.
  • Assist at D.C. United home games at Audi Field in Washington, DC.
  • Packing equipment for D.C. United road trips.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Personal Skills:

  • We are looking to add someone who is devoted to learning about working in the sports industry.
  • Interns must demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills in a
  • professional environment.
  • The selected candidate(s) must pass a background check and provide proof of Covid vaccination.
